Studies suggest that “walkable” communities benefit from stronger economies, real estate markets, crime prevention, population health, and social connections.
Walk Nashwauk is a project that encourages residents and visitors to explore Nashwauk through walking. Walk Nashwauk signage will be posted temporarily during the summer of 2022, and feedback from the public will help determine the need and desire for permanent community wayfinding signage.
It’s easy! Use the “Walk Nashwauk” signs posted at select locations in town to find local points of interest. Each sign includes a map of the community and a scale bar that shows the distance equal to a 5-minute walk. You might be surprised how convenient walking can be!
