Walk Keewatin

About

Studies suggest that “walkable” communities benefit from stronger economies, real estate markets, crime prevention, population health, and social connections.

Walk Keewatin is a project that encourages residents and visitors to explore Keewatin through walking. Walk Keewatin signage will be posted temporarily during the summer of 2022, and feedback from the public will help determine the need and desire for permanent community wayfinding signage.

Sample of the Walk Keewatin signs posted in town

It’s easy! Use the “Walk Keewatin” signs posted at select locations in town to find local points of interest. Each sign includes a map of the community and a scale bar that shows the distance equal to a 5-minute walk. You might be surprised how convenient walking can be!
